Sample Answer 1 for IELTS Writing Task 2 Argumentative Essay Topic ‘Advertising Discourages us from Being Different Individuals’
Advertisement is something that accentuates and helps in the hype of the product which is advertised. A person’s allure is highly influenced by these factors as the concept of beauty is defined by these ads. Consciously or subconsciously, these leave a perennial impression on viewers’ minds, urging them to buy these products.. The individual always tries to be the person in the advert and loses the identity of their own. In the forthcoming paragraphs I shall explain my point of view and give supporting reasons.
To begin with, different types of advertisements are there, and all of them are intended at producing ratings for the product. Most of the adverts are false and misleading, and this makes the people lose their uniqueness and develop some other temperament. They lose their esse and become a copy-paste of the person shown on the ad. Several regretful events have taken place as a result of immoral publicity.
There exists a lot of positive potential in advertising, but the fact is that people are taking it in a manner that is incompatible. Everything has pros and cons, but the way we perceive it is totally dependent on us. The people who make ads have only one thing in mind, and that is the marketing of the product and the profit. They always focus on the promotion of their commodities for a desirable outcome and the people blindly follow their lead and they are not bothered about their uniqueness and charm.
In conclusion, advertisements do play an integral role in defining the current trends in the modern day market. In my opinion though, the way that the common folk perceive such advertisements may differ from person to person and similarly the influence. Therefore, it is highly important that these advertisements are used both effectively and logically to maximise the customer choices and not as a ploy to deceive the customer by false propaganda.

Sample Answer 2 for IELTS Writing Task 2 Argumentative Essay Topic ‘Advertising Discourages us from Being Different Individuals’
Individuals argue that commercials stop people from being unique by encouraging them to act unduly. I completely agree that the advertisement becomes more successful through celebrities' endorsements and by planting word-of-mouth advertisements, the perception of many buyers change and create a status symbol.
One of the biggest reasons for such attempts is celebrity endorsement. This is predominantly because many people, especially youngsters, tend to trust celebrities before buying any product or service. Due to their perception, they assume that their idol won't endorse anything that is harmful since they use these items themselves. For example, many famous actors and actresses wear branded outfits after which their fanbase start to wear expensive jeans and jackets. Therefore, everyone looks alike and equally proud because they look just like their idols.
Moreover, some people select products irrespective of their pricing due to the items being prominent. To explain it further, individuals get attracted to the innovative advertisements which motivate them to buy these. For example, every year, many people wait in cue to purchase the latest Apple smartphones. Even those who cannot afford the phone also attempt to buy it so that they can signify how luxurious their life actually is. Hence, people take bank loans for purchasing the most recent iPhone. Consequently, there are several who share and own the same phone, which allows them to feel uplifted over anyone who does not.
In conclusion, I believe that advertisements can take away the uniqueness of people through strategies such as celebrity endorsements and word-of-mouth promotions.
