Sample Answer 1
- What was the achievement?
Celebrations are an integral part of our lives as they provide a boost for bettering ourselves in the future. Following this principle, my father arranged a party when I graduated as the topper in the university.
- When it happened?
- How did you celebrate?
Although it was five years ago, I still remember the look on my parents’ faces when they heard the announcement of the result. They knew I had worked very hard for this day, but to be a topper was an added merit. So, when I received my final graduation certificate from the Vice Chancellor of our university on graduation day, they could not help but jump up in joy. As planned, later that day, we had the celebration on our house lawn. Most of my friends were invited along with their parents. Some close relatives were also part of the celebration. I had asked my parents not to make the whole event about me as it was very embarrassing. Therefore, the party was planned in a way that congratulated all my friends on completing their graduation.
- How you felt about it?
Some of the parents performed hit dance numbers and everyone enjoyed their out-of-sync and quirky moves. Although we, the young ones, had a separate space to enjoy our special day, no one left the common space as we participated in various fun activities. Finally, after we had dinner, we reminisced about good old memories and enjoyed each other’s company.
It felt really good to be at the top of the class, but it was amazing to see my parents swelling with pride.
Sample Answer 2
Well, in the lifespan of 26 years, I can pridefully say that I’ve been a jack of all trades. So far, I must have celebrated uncountable moments. While I patted my back during some, I clapped for my closest friends and relatives during others.
- What was the achievement?
One such celebration that I can think of is when I was preparing for my MBBS entrance exam. It was almost 5 years back. I remember this celebration vividly because it was quite an essential phase of my life. I had to invest my everything to grab a seat in one of the best medical colleges of the country.
- When it happened?
- How did you celebrate?
So the day came when my vigour and zeal were to be tested. I finally gave the exam. Results were to be announced after a month. And, I had safely secured a seat in ABC, Bangalore. When I glanced over my scores, it was one of the contented days of my life.
I couldn’t stop myself from calling mom and dad. The moment I gave them this news, they were elated. Upon reaching home, my parents had organized a party with all of my immediate relatives and friends.
- How you felt about it?
We celebrated together, ate a lot of scrumptious dishes that mom made, danced to Bollywood songs and seized that day in our memories. To this day, when I remember that moment, I feel an amalgamation of ecstasy and nervousness. Jitters run down my spine, thinking I finally managed to make my parents proud.
