Describe a TV Drama Series You Have Watched - IELTS Cue Card Sample Answer 1
Watching movies is the most effective stress-reliever I’ve ever found; therefore, I spend lots of time following my favorite TV shows or its rebroadcast whenever I’m free from work. Among loads of TV series I’ve watched, nothing can beat Gossip Girls, a show I’d grown obsessed with during my high school years and still haven’t been over it yet till now.
Gossip Girls is an American TV drama series based on the book of the same name which was aired from 2007 to 2012, including six seasons. Gossip Girls follows the lives of privileged teenagers in Manhattan’s Upper East Side with tons of twists and thoughtful moments. There are hundreds of reasons I love the show and I have no doubt why it once was the most popular series with 18 Teen Choice Awards. First of all, the cast is breathtakingly gorgeous. Every single one of them. [Serena Van Der Woodsen, a blonde and beautiful socialite and Blair Waldorf, Serena’s best friend and Queen B at their high school are two main lead actresses. Their relationship is like a roller coaster and more than once they become rivals, however, they always come around, which makes the show so beautiful to watch. Nate Archibald is the so-called “golden boy”. Chuck Bass is a rich and arrogant person. And finally, Daniel Humphrey a lonely boy from Brooklyn who nobody knows.] They have great chemistry and are all talented actors.
To talk about the best part about Gossip Girl is that the show has the finest fashion moments ever. It can be said that Gossip Girls gained most of its reputation thanks to its glamorous and extravagant costume collections. From their main cast to occasional cameos, they always turn heads every time they appear in their stunning outfits. Last but not least, the highlight of the show is a ruthless and notorious blogger, aka Gossip Girls whose identity remains unknown until the very last episode of the whole series, which only entices the TV audiences more. The list can go on and on and I highly recommend the series for those who want to have a glimpse into the lavish lifestyle of the upper-class as well as their fabulous fashion.
Describe a TV Drama Series You Have Watched - IELTS Cue Card Sample Answer 2
Even though I am not a movie buff, I watch TV series and documentaries whenever I have leisure to relax. Being a mushy person, I have been an ardent fan of Korean dramas and American TV series like Friends, This is Us and Grey’s Anatomy. Recently, one of my friends recommended me to watch Panchayat, which is an Indian comedy-drama to change my mood since I was going through an emotional rough patch.
Honestly, I was not interested in the beginning, I found the change of genre quite refreshing. This web series is created by The Viral Fever for Amazon Prime Video, scripted by Chandan Kumar and is directed by Deepak Kumar Mishra. The main leads are Jitendra Kumar, Sanvikaa, Raghubir Yadav, Neena Gupta, Chandan Roy, Durgesh Kumar, Ashok Pathak, Faisal Malik and Sunita Rajwar. It follows the lives of an engineering graduate who, for lack of better employment prospects, accepts a position as a Panchayat secretary in the remote fictional Uttar Pradesh village of Phulera.
Panchayat is one of the hilarious and most entertaining online series, in my opinion. It is a touching comedy-drama with a compelling storyline and standout performances by each actor on the list. Additionally, it perfectly and comically depicts rural India and exalts the strength of a group. Both spectators and critics gave the series favourable reviews. The online series won Best Comedy Series, Best Actor (Comedy Series), Best Supporting Actor (Comedy Series), and Best Supporting Actress at the Filmfare OTT Awards’ inaugural ceremony (Comedy Series).
This series has been a game changer for me and has inspired me to venture into other genres in the future.

Describe a TV Drama Series You Have Watched - IELTS Cue Card Sample Answer 3
My favourite TV series that I have loved since I was a child is “Avatar: the last Airbender”. It is a three-season animated fantasy series featuring fantastic world-building, hard magic, and characters. The plot follows Aang as he attempts to save the world, portrayed by Zach Tyler Eisen – and Zuko, who seeks to reclaim his honour. Dante Basco portrays Zuko.
At first, it appears to be a lighthearted children’s show with several hilarious moments, but it deals with significant issues and becomes more complex as it develops. It touches on the aftereffects of war as well as the importance of spirituality.
The character arcs are extremely strong, and it is a big part of what makes the show so memorable for me. Zuko has one of my favourite character storylines ever. He is introduced as the villain in the first few episodes; spoilt, aggressive, and harsh. However, it is his character that has the most personal development. He starts off as someone who only wants to be the most powerful but is disappointed by his inability to measure up to his ambition. By the end, he has accepted himself as more than just the wicked prince. He discovers that he is embracing all of his other abilities and becoming greater than the sum of one’s parts. He reflects the best qualities of people who must work hard to attain great things and overcome numerous hurdles before becoming better. This show’s fight scenes are also excellent. The magic blends well with the martial arts, which are all wonderfully rendered and realistic. I always recommend this show to people – especially if they want to watch something with young kids.
