It is a known fact that our society comprises people with varying financial circumstances, and vagrants are also a part of this spectrum. However, it might not be entirely transparent to the privileged that tramps and the homeless make up for quite a sizeable amount of the urban population. Consequently, people often presume that financial aid will end the plight of the destitute; I believe that mere monetary support will do little towards solving this problem. In the following paragraphs, I will explore the topic in-depth and justify my views on the same.

Firstly, it is essential to understand that the number of homeless people is not limited to the ones we see on the streets and encounter during traffic stops but is substantial enough to be a matter of concern for many governments. Subsequently, these figures keep increasing, but the resources available for this population segment stay limited. Thus, when an amount of aid is allocated for an individual to provide financial relief, it is so meagre that it is barely enough to survive.

Another complication and a prevalent one that needs to be addressed is that many among these derelicts are victims of drug abuse. Therefore, any kind of monetary assistance will only help facilitate such destructive habits among these particular individuals. Furthermore, due to the lack of stability in the lives of such people, they are more likely to lose the amount of money they have been provided due to the rough and hazardous living conditions on the streets.

However, out of all those homeless people, some really need money to afford basic amenities such as food, clothing, and shelter. But at the same time, we have to point out the people who actually need the help, which is really difficult, and understand that these are only surface-level improvements and any significant change in their lifestyle is not achieved.

Finally, to conclude, I would like to say that the issue of the rising amount of homeless people in our society is a matter that needs the immediate attention of the authorities. Although providing money as a form of support might seem reasonable to many, it will only worsen the situation.
