Sample Essay
People have always been concerned with their future. Some people believe that we should not worry about the future but live in the present instead. I believe a person who wants to succeed in life is better off making strategies for the future instead of focusing on the present.
A plan for the future is similar to a roadmap for life, and it would be equivalent to living a meaningless life if one did not spend time setting goals. The present activities are strongly influenced by what one hopes to achieve in the long run. Similarly, having no plans for the future leaves you uncertain of what to do in the present. When you have goals, your actions will be aligned and they will dictate your actions. Setting a fair goal can motivate long-term career decisions and make one more likely to work hard for success.
In addition, achieving career goals and objectives is more likely to motivate a person to work hard. Therefore, planning ahead is a vital factor for success, as those who do it are the ones who see the benefit of it in the long run. Additionally, today’s environment is extremely uncertain, and stability in both life and health is essential. Making no plans can lead to significant consequences in one’s life. For instance, many people today are investing in stocks and bonds, not only for themselves but also for their family and children, so that they can have a secure future.
However, people may argue that planning for the future puts them under pressure and reduces their happiness now, but it is not the right approach. Planning ahead will help us to cope better at difficult times.
Therefore, calling future planning a waste of time is inaccurate, as it gives one direction in life and prevents one from dealing with future uncertain situations.

It is generally argued that spending time on future planning is not prolific and rather, people must give precedence to working for their present. I entirely disagree with this perception and will discuss the same in the forthcoming paragraphs.
To begin with, planning for the time to come is nothing less than giving a direction to life. If you don’t spend time setting goals and objectives, it is almost equivalent to living a life that is meaningless. The present activities are highly dependent on what somebody wishes to accomplish for the future. For instance, students with the objective of securing admission to one of the medical institutes must begin the preparation in advance. Hence, it is conclusively evident that spending time on planning for the future is imperative.
In addition to this, investing time in planning for what is ahead in life is quite crucial. In the present era, the conditions and situations are extremely uncertain. People require stability in life, both health-wise and financially. Failure in planning the future can be detrimental to somebody’s life. For example, when the pandemic came into the world, a lot of daily wage earners suddenly lost their jobs, impacting not just their living but also the capability to spend more on their health. Conversely, people who invested money and time in savings gained benefits from cautiously made decisions. Thus, it is essential to allocate time for future planning.
Although it is true that planning doesn’t help every time and it is difficult to chalk out a few future incidences, being prepared all the time helps always.
To sum it up, calling future planning a time waste is inappropriate as it offers direction to life and saves from uncertainties. Thus, I am a supporter of investing time in planning the future.
