An Increasing Number of Children are Overweight which could Result in many problems - Sample Answer 1
An increasing proportion of children are becoming overweight, a trend that poses serious risks to their future well-being and places a growing burden on healthcare systems. Although there are numerous reasons behind this issue, it can be improved through the implementation of well-planned and coordinated measures.
One of the main reasons many children are overweight is the widespread availability of calorie-dense processed foods. Fast food, sugary snacks, and carbonated drinks are often cheaper and more appealing than nutritious home-cooked meals. In addition, sedentary lifestyles have become increasingly common. Many children spend long hours watching television, playing video games, or using smartphones, which significantly reduces physical activity. Another contributing factor is the lack of nutritional awareness among parents. In households where both parents work long hours, convenience foods are frequently chosen over balanced meals, unintentionally encouraging unhealthy eating habits from an early age.
To address this problem, schools can play a crucial role by introducing compulsory physical education and promoting healthy eating through nutritious school meals. Governments should also regulate the marketing of unhealthy foods aimed at children, particularly through television and online platforms. Moreover, parents must be educated about the importance of balanced diets and regular exercise. Simple lifestyle changes, such as encouraging outdoor play and reducing screen time, can make a significant difference. When children develop healthy habits early, they are more likely to maintain them into adulthood.
In conclusion, childhood obesity is largely driven by unhealthy diets, inactive lifestyles, and limited awareness. Tackling this issue requires shared responsibility among parents, schools, and authorities. By prioritising prevention and promoting healthy habits from a young age, society can protect children’s health and reduce future healthcare costs.

An Increasing Number of Children are Overweight which could Result in Many Problems - Sample Answer 2
The rising number of overweight children has become a major public health concern, as it increases the likelihood of long-term medical complications and higher healthcare expenditure. While this issue has multiple causes, it can be effectively controlled through consistent and targeted interventions.
A significant cause of childhood obesity is the growing dependence on technology. For example, children today have easy access to video games and social media and spend long hours scrolling through them. As a result, they are less involved in physical play and more engaged in digital entertainment, which limits calorie expenditure. Furthermore, irregular eating patterns, such as skipping breakfast or overeating late at night, contribute to weight gain. Another important factor is urban living, where limited open spaces restrict opportunities for outdoor activities. As a result, children adopt passive routines that negatively affect their physical development.
One effective solution is to integrate health education into school curricula, teaching children about nutrition, portion control, and the importance of exercise. Communities can also support healthier lifestyles by developing parks and recreational facilities that encourage physical activity. In addition, healthcare professionals should work closely with families to monitor children’s growth and provide early guidance when weight issues arise. Taxing sugary drinks and subsidising healthy foods could further motivate families to make better dietary choices.
To summarise, childhood obesity stems from technological dependence, poor eating habits, and environmental limitations. Preventing this problem requires collective effort from families, educational institutions, communities, and policymakers. By sharing responsibility and focusing on early prevention, the long-term health of children and the sustainability of healthcare systems can be significantly improved.

An Increasing Number of Children are Overweight which could Result in Many Problems - Sample Answer 3
In today’s world, childhood obesity is one of the most persistent difficulties. There are numerous reasons for this problem, and many effects have been related to it. However, I believe that numerous steps could be followed to improve this condition.
There are two key aspects that contribute to childhood obesity. The first one is bad eating habits: consuming junk foods, like french fries, burgers and so on. The second likely issue is the sedentary lifestyle of a child. Unlike the previous generation which used to often play outdoor games, they play computer games, rather than playing outside. The unhealthy lifestyle on top of bad eating habits renders them unable to do any physical exercise. As a consequence, obesity is worsening in kids.
However, several measures should be undertaken by parents, governments and schools. Firstly, governments can restrict hoardings and advertisements of fast foods. Secondly, a healthy, balanced diet should be implemented in schools and at homes. For example, a diet that includes more vegetables and a balance of all the important macronutrients with less fat content should be given to children. Finally, restrict their screen time and encourage them to take up a sport or any physical activity.
In conclusion, it is true that obesity among children is growing at an alarming rate because of bad eating and lifestyle habits. But it seems to me that there are many solutions to tackle this problem.
