Reading Passage 2
How to use your new Flemings Flat irons
Make sure to coat strands with a heat-protective spray before use. This will stop the straightening irons from causing excessive dehydration and frizz, which can sap the integrity of the hair shaft.
Part hair into four or five large sections, and blow-dry each section using a paddle brush.
Take a one or two-inch section of hair and clamp the iron down as close to the roots as possible. Pull the iron down towards the tips with a firm, steady hand. Be careful not to tug or jerk on the hair, and do not pause for more than a split second.
After straightening, smooth a serum gloss from mid-shaft to the tips. This creates a slightly reflective sheen, which gives a polished and healthy appearance to your hair.
Your new hairdo can withstand some moisture such as misty rain or mild humidity, but take care not to get it saturated. This will counteract the effect of the straightening, and the hair will return to its naturally curly or wavy state.

1 Answer: True
Question type: True/False/Not Given
Answer location: Paragraph 6
Answer explanation: In paragraph 6, under the telephone transfer, the writer has mentioned, “Make Citywide Power as one of your telephone transfer options at the bank and you can just pick up the phone and pay straight from your bank account when you receive your energy.” We can understand from these lines that people making calls via citywide customer service are not billed by the phone company. Hence, the statement agrees with the information, so, the answer is True.
2 Answer: False
Question type: True/False/ Not Given
Answer location: Paragraph 2
Answer explanation: The 2nd paragraph states, “Choose the option that suits your preference and rest assured that we offer everyone a 15% discount if the entire bill is paid before the due date.” We can deduce from these lines that people will receive a 15% discount only if the entire bill is paid before the due date. Thus, the statement contradicts the information, so, the answer is False.
3 Answer: False
Question type: True/False/ Not Given
Answer location: Paragraph 3
Answer explanation: Paragraph 3 under the Direct Debit, “Set up a direct debit and your energy bill will be paid automatically each month (as long as you have sufficient funds in your chosen bank account). You qualify for a further 2% Prompt Pay Discount if you choose this method.” We can understand from these lines that if direct debit is set up, the energy bill will be paid automatically each month, where the person will qualify for a further 2% prompt pay. Thus, the statement contradicts the information, so, the answer is False.
4 Answer: True
Question type: True/False/ Not Given
Answer location: Paragraph 4
Answer explanation: Paragraph 4 under the Internet Banking, “Add Citywide Power to your bill payment options; receive your bill online; transfer the full amount owing before the due date and get a 2% Prompt Pay Discount. What could be easier?” we can deduce from these lines that if the citywide power is added to the bill payment, the bill will be received online, and transfer the full amount before the due date. It is clear that the bank automatically transfers the funds with internet banking. Thus, the statement agrees with the information, so the answer is True.
5 Answer: Not Given
Question type: True/False/Not Given
Answer location: Paragraph 5
Answer explanation: Paragraph 5 under the Automatic Payment, it is states, “If you want to pay your bills in smaller installments at regular intervals, say weekly or fortnightly, then set up an automatic payment with your bank. This option is more suitable for customers with regular energy usage, although you can change the amount and the interval at any time.” These lines suggest that if someone wants to pay their bills in small installments at regular intervals, then automatic payment can be set up. This option is more suitable for customers with regular energy consumption. As a result, it’s not mentioned anywhere that automatic payments suit people with low income. Thus, the answer is Not Given.
6 Answer: False
Question type: True/False/ Not Given
Answer location: Paragraph 6

Make Citywide Power one of your telephone transfer options at the bank and you can just pick up the phone and pay straight from your bank account when you receive your energy bill. The 2% Prompt Pay Discount applies if accounts are paid in full on time.” These lines suggest that fast and easy bill payment will be available at your fingertips. If citywide power becomes a person’s telephone transfer option, the person can easily pay from the bank account when the energy bill is received. Thus, the statement contradicts the information, so, the answer is False.
7 Answer: True

To set up this form of payment, you’ll need to phone us with your credit card details, account number, and ICP number. We accept most credit cards-all the major ones anyway.” These lines indicate that if the credit card is registered with the company, the money will be automatically debited from the credit card. If this is the case, simply write the cheque-being sure to note your account number on the back-and mail it in your pre-paid, reusable envelope in which you received your bill.” We can deduce from these lines that there are still some customers who prefer to pay by cheque, these customers can simply note their account number on the back-and mail it in the prepaid reusable envelope in the bill received. Thus, it is evident that there are no postage costs associated with sending a cheque to the citywide company in the mail. Hence, the answer is True.
