Describe a Type of Clothes You Like to Wear - IELTS Cue Card Sample Answer 1
Well, I generally prefer to wear a variety of apparel as India experiences a diversity of temperatures ranging from tropical in the south to temperate and alpine in the Himalayan north due to its geographical location. However, if I had to choose one, it would be a t-shirt and jeans. Wearing a t-shirt and jeans gives me an incredible sense of joy because summer lasts for roughly 6 months in India.
T-shirts and jeans are ubiquitous apparel items widely available worldwide and most popular in balmy weather countries. Wearing t-shirts with jeans has several advantages, and the most notable is that they are comfortable, breathable, and trendy. You can also wear various types of t-shirts with jeans and vice versa. They come in a variety of colours and beautiful patterns. Furthermore, these garments are available in a ready form, eliminating the need to place an order with a tailor.
I regularly wear these outfits. I like jeans, trousers, and t-shirts for a variety of reasons. They are simple to use. I wear jeans and a t-shirt every day. It does not require a specific occasion or excuse for me to wear it. You’ll find me in jeans on any day, whether on a regular day or at a festival or event. There are many reasons why I choose to wear this apparel/clothing above any other. For example, in t-shirts and jeans, it is less difficult to move around. It’s nearly impossible to move around in a formal gown, and even sitting is tough. I had to be concerned about what I was wearing all of the time. Cleaning them is another issue. On the other hand, jeans, trousers, and t-shirts have no such concerns.

Honestly, India has a vast selection of clothing, from traditional to western, and I enjoy wearing them all, but if I had to select one, it would be an Indian Kurti. In general, I enjoy wearing kurtis in all seasons since they provide me with a tremendous sense of comfort.
In India, kurtis/kurtas come in a broad range of styles that you can wear on a daily basis as well as for special events. Both men and women use Kurtis as an upper garment. In fact, Kurtas are available in different ranges and colours, such as from formal to casual. It is usually made with different fabrics like cotton, silk, synthetic or wool.
During the summer, I love to wear cotton Kurtis since they are light and breathable. On the other hand, embroidered Kurtis look stunning when worn on special occasions. The best advantage of this piece of cloth is that it can be worn by anyone irrespective of age and gender. In fact, some men/women in India wear Kurta/Kurti almost on a regular basis. I like to wear short cotton kurtas on a frequent basis. It gives me a great sense of comfort. Moreover, I can never get bored of wearing kurti/kurta because of various styles and patterns. Furthermore, I believe that embroidered kurtis/kurtas look fantastic on me during Indian weddings and gatherings. Besides that, they are easy to wear, allow free movement, and can be paired effortlessly with leggings, palazzos, or jeans. Overall, the Kurti gives me comfort as well as adds elegance to my appearance.

Describe a Type of Clothes You Like to Wear - IELTS Cue Card Sample Answer 3
As someone who runs my own business, I prefer clothing that strikes a balance between professionalism and comfort. The type of clothes I enjoy wearing most are smart casual outfits, particularly tailored trousers paired with a crisp button-down shirt or a solid-color polo shirt, depending on the occasion. This style suits both formal meetings and relaxed networking events, allowing me to move seamlessly through my workday without compromising on style or ease.
Typically, I go for neutral colors like navy, grey, or black for the bottoms, and I add a bit of personality with shirts in subtle patterns or earth tones. I often complement the outfit with a wristwatch and leather loafers, which completes the polished look. In colder months, I usually layer up with a blazer or a lightweight jacket, depending on the setting.
I wear these outfits almost every day during the workweek. As a business owner, I attend client meetings, manage in-office tasks, and occasionally give presentations. Dressing well boosts my confidence and earns the respect of clients and team members alike. I enjoy wearing this style because it reflects who I am—someone who takes work seriously but also values comfort and authenticity. Additionally, dressing smartly helps me set the tone in my business and leave a strong first impression, which is crucial in the entrepreneurial world.
