I bought a colour set from Faber castell consisting of acrylic paints, brushes, sketch pencils, crayons, pencil watercolours. It cost me around 500 rupees. I have been saving money for a long time, and I have finally been able to buy this. I have given up junk foods, shopping and everything to save money for this.
I bought it from New Market. It was just a month before the lockdown was announced. I visited the place because my mother had to buy a few ingredients for her bakery business. The lockdown was to be declared soon, so we came to buy some essentials but ended up buying this luxury item.
The cost was around 600 Rupees, but my mother insisted on bargaining. She bargained for it and fixed it to 500 rupees. I used the extra hundred rupee note on buying art sheets.
I am very fond of art and sketches. Being an introvert has its perks. Whenever I am sad or emotionally drained, I would prefer sitting with my sketchbooks. Every stroke of colour or pencil helped me to overcome my negative emotions. Every emotion depicts different pictures and colours. If sad, using a dark and gloomy palette works. If I am happy, I would prefer a happy palette. Every colour has its own impact and healing power. I bought them because to take my mind off the unending chain of affected patients and wrongs happening to the world during this lockdown. A gentle stroke of my paintbrush can do that magic.
