Sample Essay :

People have different views about what kinds of obligations a company should have. While I accept that the top priority of companies is to generate profits, I believe they should also have social responsibilities.

On the one hand, I believe businesses already contribute to society by merely focusing on making money. The first reason is that when companies earn a good profit, they can expand their businesses, which creates more job opportunities for people. Some big multinational corporations such as Apple or Microsoft can be a great illustration. They have been employing hundreds of thousands of individuals around the world, which helps to reduce unemployment rates in many countries. Additionally, when companies make higher profits, they will pay more taxes to the government. This money can be used to invest in essential fields such as education or health care, which will benefit society as a whole.

On the other hand, I would argue that apart from making money, companies also need to have social responsibilities. Firstly, since the rising number of factories these days has led to severe environmental damage, companies need to take immediate actions to help protect the natural environment. For example, they could try new technologies to recycle their wastes instead of disposing of them right away. Secondly, corporations should also consider helping those who are less fortunate such as homeless or disabled citizens. This will contribute to a better society and also help to enhance the image of the company or the brand.

In conclusion, although companies should prioritise the need to make profits, I believe they should also have social responsibilities.

With the growing businesses and burgeoning startups, the competition today has been intensified to a massive extent. Where companies keep on meditating on the ideas of growing their business and generating revenues, there come social duties that they should also focus on. In the further paragraphs, I shall discuss the same.

With each passing day, the organizations work their level best in order to be on the first spot. With numerous ideas and plans of action, companies leave no stone unturned in the case of scaling profitability. However, one must not forget the prime duty of every individual in this world and that is hoisting the flag of humanity. I propound that businesses today should put their best foot forward in laying the foundation for the welfare of the society they live in. It not only helps them in fulfilling the primary objective of being a human but also fosters the deprived and denuded sections of society. Companies today are seen to be having a strong CSR department in this frame as it is seen the better the reputation, the better are the profits generated for the organization. For example, Tata Steel is recognized as one of the finest companies when it comes to its social services, thereby having a gigantic repute in the minds of people that have helped them in having an accelerated growth of their business.

Certain measures like generating employment opportunities for the underprivileged sections, the differently-abled people, misrepresented strata of the society could be really fruitful for the world as a whole. It not only helps the corporations to be marketed and talked about for all the good reasons but also gives them a sense of contentment. As is said by many, it’s not the revenue that a company accumulated, but the quality of life it has ameliorated of the people around that matters. Even if we see in the long run, companies in the past that have been aggressively focussed on the monetary aspects, were not able to make it long. After all the putative image in the minds of people is what is going to make them stay on the battlefield that simply applies the rule of survival of the fittest and the ones that impress people are the ones that earn the stalwart clients for themselves.

Though some might say, there needn’t be a specific requirement for the companies to play their part in the social responsibilities aspect as they are anyway paying the taxess to the government, however, that is only the fees of the establishment of them and its role in buttressing the society could not and should not be dodged from.

Therefore, it could be argued that businesses should focus on increasing their role in the betterment of the society for aforementioned reasons
