Band 7 Sample Answer For Writing Task 1 Question – Ceramic Pots Process
This diagram shows us, step-by-step, how ceramic pots are made. The process unfolds in eleven key steps.
First up, machines dig up clay, the main ingredient for these pots. Then, the clay takes a trip to the factory. At this factory, machines grind the clay down into a fine powder. Next, water gets mixed well with the powder to make a mixture that’s easy to work with. This mixture is then poured carefully into molds that are shaped just like the final pots will be. After drying out for a few hours, the molded clay is ready for the next step.
The dried-out clay pots are placed carefully inside a hot oven, reaching a sizzling 1000 degrees Celsius. This intense heat hardens the clay, making the pots strong and ready to use. After this firing, the pots might get painted with pretty colors and designs.
In the end, the decorated pots go back into the hot oven for another round of baking to set the paint and make the colors stay bright. Once everything is checked and perfect, these beautiful pots are ready to be sold.

Band 8 Sample Answer For Writing Task 1 Question – Ceramic Pots Process
This detailed diagram unveils a fascinating process, guiding us through the creation of beautiful ceramic pots in 11 steps.
The process starts with powerful machines, like giant shovels, digging up the essential ingredient: clay. Once extracted, trucks transport this raw material to a dedicated factory. After that, machines crush the clay in two stages, turning it into a fine powder. This powder is then carefully mixed with water to create a smooth and workable mixture.
The carefully crafted mixture is then poured into specially designed molds, each shaped like the final pot design.
After a drying period of 4-6 hours, the molded clay sheds its excess moisture, ready for the next step. The dried clay pots are carefully placed inside a hot oven reaching at 1000 degrees Celsius. Hence, this process hardens the clay transforming it from a fragile form into a sturdy and durable pot.
After firing, the pots may be further decorated with vibrant colors. Finally, the decorated pots undergo another firing within the hot oven, this time to set the glaze and ensure the colors remain vibrant and permanent. After that, these beautiful pots are ready for sale or use in homes.
