Well, I am a meticulous person. I like to schedule my day the night before, which helps me to manage time efficiently. But sometimes, things don’t go as planned because of dense circumstances. A similar thing has happened to me recently, and here I would like to talk about an important journey that was delayed.
- Why was it important?
About a year ago, this vital journey was when I was travelling to Gurgaon to attend my best friend’s wedding party. My best friend wanted me to arrive well ahead of the party schedule.
- What caused the delay?
So I scheduled my journey and took a metro from Noida at 4 p.m. to reach the wedding party location 3 hours before the scheduled time. I was quite excited because I was incharge of hosting and assisting the guests at the party. Unfortunately, the metro stopped in between the tunnel. Everyone was astonished. I asked the co-passengers, but they were also clueless. After 1 hour, the metro driver announced that the engine of the metro had broken down and it was going to take a few more hours to get it repaired.
- What happened at the end?
I was in a dilemma about what to do as my cell phone network was also not working in the tunnel. Finally, after waiting for 3 hours, the driver was able to fix the issue.
When I reached the venue, it was already 7 p.m, and the party had already started. But I reached out to my best friend and explained everything. Eventually, she understood, and I was happy that I could attend her wedding party and resume my duty of assisting the guests.

Sample Answer 2
- Why was it important?
Usually, I don’t leave anything to chance and plan out all my tours and routine beforehand. So, when my friends decided to go to Nepal during the summer break, I began organizing everything immediately. It was a very important trip for us as out of five, three of our friends were getting married that year and this trip was long due.
We decided to meet in Mumbai a day prior so that we could wrap up the last-minute packing, as most of us shared clothes and makeup with each other. Our flight was on 15th May and we were ecstatic that our dream trip was finally becoming a reality. Unfortunately, when we woke up in the morning, the sky was overcast with dark clouds. Within a few hours, a downpour began and the roads were immediately inundated. Worried that we wouldn’t make it to the airport on time, we left seven hours before, even though the airport was just forty-five minutes away from where we were staying.
- What caused the delay?
To our horror, we got stuck in the traffic for around three hours as the roads were blocked. Eventually, we lost hope of catching the flight and started making other plans to cheer up the three friends who were excited to have a bachelorette party in Nepal. Finally, the rain ceased and the traffic started moving gradually. We reached the airport just in time for the check-in and were able to board the plane as it was deferred by one hour.
- What happened at the end?
We were exhilarated to reach Nepal. Although the journey got delayed by half a day, we had the best of our time there. All’s well that ends well.
