Sample Answer
In the old days, radio broadcasting was considered as one of the most important and convenient sources of information. However, with the advent of other forms of mass media, some people perceive that radio is on the verge of extinction in the future if it does not undergo any significant change. In my opinion however, the radio will stand the test of time. In the next few paragraphs, I will be explaining my opinion in detail.
One of the main reasons why radio would not become obsolete soon is that driving cars is emerging as a way of life across the world. Radio is installed in cars and listening while driving is a good idea for taking full advantage of their time and obtaining the latest information, such as news, weather forecast, society, and so forth. Increase in usage of cars gives more scope for the radios.
For those people who have no time watching the box, radio provides immediate and easy access to information. Its continued survival is also connected to its high affordability. Radio broadcasting is, in general, accessible to the audience free of charge. Another obvious advantage is that the radio set is portable and convenient. On occasions where people cannot watch TV, read the newspaper or surf the internet, they can resort to the radio. There are many other electronic devices, such as mp3 and mp4 players, which help people enjoy various entertainment programs at their convenience.
Although people think a radio is unable to convey messages with images and motions as television and the internet does, the advent of other technologies has also reinforced the popularity of radio.
To summarize, radio broadcasting has more benefits than drawbacks. The remarkable improvements in technology will enable the radio to perform more and become more widely available. There is no doubt that radio broadcasting will continue to account for a very substantial segment of the mass media market.

The inexorable march of new technology in recent decades has seen tremendous progress in the multimedia and entertainment sectors. In this present situation, many people believe that radio has become out-of-date and there is no need to listen to the radio for entertainment and news, and I myself find partially in agreement with this notion.
Radio has been the most prominent medium for entertainment for our predecessors, and it is an indisputable fact that many of them still carry a love for radio when it comes to entertainment. However, radio has been greatly supplanted by advanced multimedia utilities such as television and online social media tools in the past decade. The current generation depends upon the latest media for entertainment and daily news. Significance of radio thus has been diminished considerably and many of new age children are not even cognizant about the existence of such a media.
This state of dilapidation of radio is expected as radio lacks many features in terms of utility, such as its inability to transmit programmes in video format and to broadcast feature films, and so on. Moreover, it is an indubitable fact that our technological development moves forward with the invention of more convenient utilities which solve the inabilities of their predecessors, and this holds true as radio dates many decades back to television.
In conclusion, I am inclined to state that radio has lost its predominant stature as a medium in the hearts of the general public and its scope is diminishing relentlessly in the current population. However, it will remain as a souvenir from the past in the hearts of our old age generation.

Prior to the development of online platforms and televisions, audio transmission alone was the source of entertainment and news. Now that several platforms have become available, it is assumed by some that the radio is of not much need. On the contrary, I believe that the possibility of withdrawal of radio usage is far in the future.
On the one hand, with the advent of various news and entertainment sources, the popularity of radio has seen a downfall. People opt to read or watch news on their mobile rather than listen to a radio. Although, this is an efficient way to gather information on interested and relevant articles and hear music, it not always convenient to do so. For instance, one will not be able to read and grasp more information while multitasking but can do so while listening.
On the other hand, however, there are huge number of people who seek to be updated with news while driving or working. Radio system installed in cars are a handy way to catchup with statistics such as whether forecast, traffic updates and enjoy music as well. For example, the FM station ‘Red FM’ is extremely famous for the live updates of traffic status in busy roads at peak hours. Thus, increasing the scope of radio use.
In conclusion, it is an undeniable fact that the use of radio is not as popular as it was when it was invented, but it is also true that the use of this broadcasting technology not on the verge of extinction.

Band: 5.5
Cohesion: Learn the usage of the linkers of contrast . Also learn the difference between linkers of addition and linkers of contrast.
This is an opinion essay, which means you will need a linker of addition for transitioning to the next para ( since you will be supporting your view in both paras) . You have used a linker of contrast here, which will give an impression that you are writing something against your view in the next para.
