Band 7 Sample Answer For Writing Task 1 Process Diagram – Production of Potato Chips
The diagram shows how potato chips are made. Overall, there are six main stages with the potatoes being washed, peeled, sliced, and fried to produce potato chips.
First of all, when a batch of potatoes arrives at the manufacturing plant, they are examined by hand for quality before being washed in cold water. The potatoes are then sent to a peeling machine to remove their skins and eliminate potato peels and starch.
Then, the peeled potatoes are transported to a bucket conveyor, which moves them one by one into a slicing machine, after which the slices are distributed on another conveyor belt and air-dried as they move along into the deep fryer. The chips are then cooked in the deep fryer, and after the completion of this process, they are salted and transported by a flat belt conveyor to the bag packer machine, which feeds chips into each bag. Alternatively, if the chips are to be packaged in a can, a different machine is used.

Band 8 Sample Answer For Writing Task 1 Process Diagram – Production of Potato Chips
The given process diagram outlines the steps involved in making potato chips. Overall, there are six stages in total starting from quality check and ending with packaging. The whole process actually involves checking and washing potatoes, slicing and drying them, frying and seasoning, and ultimately packaging the finished potato chips.
Starting with the first stage, the freshly picked potatoes undergo a proper manual inspection and washing using a washer. Now, they are sent to get a cold rinse with water again. Then, the washed potatoes either go through peeling and starching before being sliced using a bucket conveyor, or they are directly sent to the slicer after washing.
Once sliced, they are dried on a flat belt conveyor with air. After this, all the sliced potatoes are fried and seasoned with salt to enhance flavour. In the final stage, the flavoured potato chips are packaged either in bags or cans for distribution to the market.

To begin with, the workers gather potatoes from suppliers and assess their quality. Subsequently, the potatoes undergo washing in a washer to remove dirt and germs. Then, a cold water rinse ensures thorough cleaning before the potatoes proceed to the peeling machine, where skins are removed, and any starch present is clearly eliminated.
After peeling, potatoes are transferred by a bucket conveyor to a slicer, which cuts them into thin slices. These slices are then dried on a flatbed conveyor before entering the deep fryer. Once fried, the chips move along a flat conveyor for salting. Finally, the chips are packaged either in bags or cans using a backpacker machine and are sent out for delivery.

the given picture represents various steps in the manufacturing of the potato chips.
at the beginning, the qualities of the potatoes are being checked by the labourers. further, the eatable potatoes are washed in a tank with the cold water so that the dust particles can be removed from them. after washing, potatoes are peeled with the help of the peeler and the starch is removed from them after which they are sent to the slicer machine through the bucket conveyor.
in the next stage, the potatoes are sliced into tiny forms and then are completely dried with the help of air on a flat bed conveyor for sometime. after that, the sliced potatoes are deep fried in the oil. the another step includes the salting of the fried potatoes with the help of a salter which results in the formation of the potato chips. this stage held on a flat belt conveyor. then the chips are transferred to the bag packer from which the bulk filler can fill the bags with the chips.
in conclusion, the process of making the potato chips begins with the inspection of the potatoes and terminates with the filling of the bags with chips.

Please check and give bands.
The given diagram illustrates the process of production of potato chips from potatoes.
It can be clearly observed from illustration that production of potato chips is consisting of five main stages, starting from the quality of potatoes to sealing them in chips bag.
To begin with, the quality of potatoes is checked by inspector before sending them into the washer. The potatoes are washed in the washer by cold rinse water. After that, potatoes are peeled and starch is removed before sending them into the slicer through bucket conveyor. The slicer slices the potatoes nicely and it is redirected to deep fryer by using flat-bed conveyor. The air is introduced into the flat-bed conveyor to remove any moisture present.
In the subsequent stage, the chips are consigned to either bag packer or can filler by flat-bed conveyor (where they are salted by a salter). At last, the chips are sealed into bags by bag packer and cans by can filler. At this stage, they are ready to dispatch.
