Too much emphasis is placed on going to university for academic education. People should be encouraged to do vocational training because there is a lack of qualified tradespeople such as electricians or plumbers. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

For most people, vocational training is considered a dishonourable escape route for those who are not smart enough to attend colleges. Now that the scarcity of qualified craftsmen, such as construction workers, electricians or locksmiths is getting more acute, some have suggested that more people should be encouraged to undergo vocational training. From my point of view, I cast no doubt on the veracity of this statement.

Multiple benefits can be derived from attending trade schools instead of universities. In the first place, programs of vocational schools are often shorter. More specifically, while college students have to commit to at least three years of full-time study, it takes only 1 or 2 years for students to receive certain specialised certifications. In addition, the principal focus of vocational programs is on providing hands-on experience to students, and there is no need for them to study subjects that are not relevant to their choice of subject. The prime example for this is Vietnamese college students, regardless of what majors they pursue, are obliged to study concepts of the communist party while students of trade schools do not have to. For this reason, their employability is significantly enhanced.
Despite such advantages, many are still sceptical about taking vocational training as it does not offer much flexibility. I acknowledge that career choices are much more limited for vocational students and that there is little chance for them to change their careers if they desire to. However, if students receive a proper career orientation program before embarking on their learning, few wrong decisions will be made.
All things considered, I am inclined to restate that vocational training should no longer be kept on the periphery of the educational system and that it should be encouraged among students of all levels of education.

There has always been an ever-pervasive argument when it comes to the essence and necessity of formal academic education and professional courses for the students. Some people say as there is a pronounced paucity of qualified and educated professionals such as electricians, more stress should be exerted on the vocational training. I find myself agreeing to this statement and in the following paragraphs, I shall be talking about the same.
The first and the prime reason for the inclination towards vocational training shall be the faster and promising employability post the completion of such practical and applicable courses. As is known to all, there is a dearth of such trained and educated employees and hence, the gradient of demand-supply is pretty persistent in such cases, and therefore, the better job prospects for the trainees. Secondly, the courses they choose to go for are typically around the emphatic curricula of a course in particular. Unlike academic qualifications, where one goes through the entire rigmarole and clamour of the additional and secondary syllabus that might not even be distantly related to the considered course subject. Therefore, while undergoing the classes of such vocations, there is staunch andragogy of hardcore learning that finds the implications in the real life.
Moreover, our academic education system has considerable anomalies and when the point of application of the facts and knowledge imparted in the institutions arises. Many a time it has been that there is a concept of rote learning in these educational hubs and students are hardly left with any logical understanding that categorically helps them in picturizing it to the concrete reality. Similarly, they are made to cram and jam the pages of their textbooks that they are hardly able to take away any plausible or heuristic applicability of it. Owing to this, a generic perspective to studies, majorly at bachelor’s level that hardly finds any implementation, finishes with the untrained and naive graduates striving hard to seek employment.
Though education is important when it comes to academic knowledge, learning everything under the sun renders a person over-soaked with unprocessed and superfluous knowledge.
Conclusion thus could be focussing more on the quintessential need of the hour and the avenues of vocational coaching for the better career prospects of people as well as the betterment of society.
